Oaklight Retreat: Cozy Romantic Dog-Friendly Cabin

Oaklight Retreat is a cozy cabin nestled in a quiet hardwood forest in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Located in a community on the New River, it offers solitude, nature & river access for tubing or kayaking. This little cabin is a perfect writer's or reader's retreat, romantic getaway, or just escape from the world. It also serves as a great basecamp for day hikers, with gorgeous trails nearby. And dogs love it. Come rest, relax, nap in the hammock, sit in the hot tub, & enjoy the peaceful forest.

Greystone Cottage is newly renovated, dog-friendly, and a 5 min walk to restaurants/shopping in the historic town of West Jefferson. The cottage has a mountain view, large gated porch, hot tub, gas grill, and fire pit with edison lights illuminating the outdoor area at night. The cottage is equipped with keyless entry, fiber optic high speed internet, smart TVs, washer and dryer, mini-split A/C and heat, and a fully functional kitchen. The two bedrooms have Sealy memory foam mattresses (Queen).

The Silo was finished in Nov 2018. We’ve been renovating this old 1950’s dairy barn/silo since 2013. The Silo has 4 floors and the top 2 are yours! There’s a sitting area on the third floor (and bath). The bedroom is at the very top with windows all around and 360°view ! Also your own private deck off the bedroom.

Hurrican Helene did not damage the area. HWY 421 to 77 to 21 is open. Enjoy the beautiful mountains of North Carolina where the second oldest river runs through! Canoeing, fishing, tubing, hiking & the slender of nature. Great for a single person or a couple. Or just sit on the porch overlooking the river and relax! There are great restaurants in town and the feel of small-town people. This is our happy place, and I know it will become yours too.
