It's off the tourist trail and yet not far from the attractions in the National Park. It's fabulous for walking, cycling, riding (field for horses) and birdwatching. The cottage forms part of the Broomhead Estate and the wooded parkland runs down to the cottage. The 17th century cottage is a cosy hideaway with wood burner and wifi. Torside is the closest dwelling to Peak Cavern in the stunning and 'other worldly' Peak Cavern Gorge. The Gorge is a SSSI and one of the Seven Wonders of the Peak. A further three renowned show caverns, 7 pubs, cafes and shops are within walking distance. The scenery is dramatic and ever changing as the weather rolls in over Mam Tor from the West. Temperature inversions create outstanding conditions for photography. The cottage is vernacular and decorated to English Heritage standards.

Castleton is such a pretty little town with it's own castle, 7 watering holes (all dog friendly) fabulous restaurants and delightful cafes. We are situated between Bakewell and Buxton.
