In the Jefferson National Forest’s 'Mount Rogers National Recreation Area', and with expansive scenic views of Whitetop Mountain and Mount Rogers, Dongola Cabin is a cozy and secluded retreat -- perfect for writers and creatives seeking inspiration and solitude, couples wanting romantic getaways, solo travellers, digital nomads, astronomy enthusiasts, etc. About 30 minutes from the bustling towns of Damascus and Abingdon, the Cabin offers a restive getaway w/ many opportunities for activities.

NO CLEANING FEES. NO TO DO LISTS BEFORE CHECKING OUT. NO PET FEES. Cozy, private one room cottage (with bathroom), run by a loving, easy-going, non-judging family. Cottage measures 12' x 24' (total of 288sq. feet). Very relaxed environment. Flat rate of $50.00. UPDATE: Deck is now enclosed with old window panes. Super cozy. Has a sink with hot/old water, a hot plate, large toaster oven, and utensils. I am am still putting finishing touches on it, but available for use. Pictures soon.

Oak Leaf Bungalow in Damascus

Hurricane Helene caused damage to many trails including the Creeper, which is closed from White Top thru Damascus, altho the section near Abingdon is open. Most roads open. Our Bungalow is intact. Electricity & water are restored. Please email with any questions. The bungalow is walking distance to the center of town. We're just 15 minutes from Abingdon. The house is cozy and we have a great yard for kids and dogs. Our landline phone has unlimited long distance and we have Wifi and Roku TV

Our cabin sits within a 10-mile radius of Virginia’s 5 highest peaks, all over 5000 ft, 6 miles from Elk Garden and Gox creek trailheads (AT). Enjoy hiking, biking, flyfishing, horseback riding nearby, or watching the wild ponies. Our Cyclist cabin has one bedroom with a queen sized bed and one full bathroom. The front of this cabin faces the Creeper Trail and has a lovely large covered porch area with plenty of outdoor seating. The river is just steps away at the back of the property. Boasts a well-stocked kitchen, a family room/dining area, a gas grill, an oven, a dishwasher, AC, Smart Tv and Wi-Fi.
