Waddle Self Catering

The Waddle is a traditional Shetland croft house, refurbished to offer a homely and comfortable stay for guests. Situated in a peaceful, quiet, remote location just over a mile from the nearby village of Walls, tucked in under the hill overlooking a sea-loch, it's a perfect place to enjoy Shetlands wildlife, scenery, peace and freedom. The Waddle is situated on an active croft. We have approximately 250 sheep with lambing in the spring, silage baling in the summer and feeding in the winter.

A scenic, relaxing setting to get away from it all and a great base for exploring Shetland. With magnificent sea views, Driftwood provides beautiful coastal walks from your doorstep. During the summer months, your nearest neighbours are Shetland ponies who may peer over the fence to say hello. There's plenty of outdoor space to enjoy watching local wildlife along the shoreline.

Your host has an extensive local knowledge of places of interest and areas to visit.

East-Gate was built new in 2018 the property is located in central Shetland and beautifully finished. Outside the patio door takes you onto a decked area which you can sit out on for your morning cuppa or evening glass of wine or to simply take in the scenery . It has the latest air to air heating and air con. We are very lucky to have a hot spot for otter sighting on our door step just a short walk down the field. The sea views and coastal walks makes this an ideal tranquil location.

Although it is an annexe to owners home it is completely private .There are spectacular views across the bay where seals ,otters and sometimes Orcas can be spotted. There is a small beach 2 minutes walk from the accommodation also a swimming pool and local shop within easy walking distance .
