Welcome to Guesthouse Gist. Guesthouse Gist is situated in Øravík - right in the heart of the village and just 2 kilometres from The Ferry Terminal. The atmosphere at Guesthouse Gist is open and relaxed, true to the natural surroundings of the place, and you get the feeling of visiting a cosy, quiet and warm home. Guesthouse Gist is the place where you have a good bed in comfortable surroundings after a good day of exploring the unique and unspoilt nature of Suðuroy. It is easy to go for walks and hikes with the Guesthouse as a Base. The family friendly Guesthouse has 16 new and renovated rooms, all with private bathrooms and some with the possibility for two extra beds making it well suited for a family of 4. Also, you have access to a shared dining room and a fully equipped kitchen. All the rooms have new beds and mattresses. Free high-speed wifi and a flat-screen TV in every room, with international cable channels. Get a good nights sleep while enjoying the day by experience the culture and nature of the beautiful island. The closest city is Tvøroyri with shopping opportunities, two cafes and several museums. This is a double room, with a private bathroom. It has two single bed, and there is the possibility of an extra fold-away bed.

Relax by the seaside in Akrar, Suduroy.

Our house is located in the small and peaceful village Akrar on the southern most island Suduroy of the Faroe Islands. Looking out the windows or even just having the windows open, you feel as if you are one with nature, as the house is located by the see. You can hear the ocean as the waves strike right outside the window. This 100 year old house, has been renovated through the years, but you still get the feel of going through the decades, the new has carefully been blended in with the old.

Hilmarsstova

The most wonderful cottage to spend your vacation Whether you are looking for a romantic country retreat, a seaside pad for some family fun, or a traditional farm cottage to get back to nature, this is a holiday home waiting for you. It is possible to drive all the way to Hilmarsstova, locaded 90 meters over all other buildings with the most wonderful views of the surrounding area. On a clear evening you get unobstructed view to the twinkling stars above without disturbing city lighting,

Luksus sommerhus i fantastiske omgivelser.

Luksus sommerhus fra 2022 i skønne omgivelser med en fantastisk udsigt, beliggende i et afsides sted med et utroligt rigt dyreliv. Du kan møde harer lige udenfor huset, og fugle bygger reder runt omkring i græsmarkerne. Der er 12 sengepladser i huset, plus 2 rejsesenge til småbørn, men masser af plads for ekstra madrasser på gulvet. Fra juli 2023 er det muligt at leje adgang til jacuzzi til 6 personer mod ekstra gebyr. 1.000kr for 1 dag, de efterfølgende dage koster det 500kr pr dag.

Charmerende hus med havudsigt

Her kan du roligt læne dig tilbage og slappe af i vores unikke og rolige sommerhus. Huset blev bygget i 1920, men er netop blevet nyrenoveret. Nyd den flotte havudsigt fra næsten alle vinduer. Placeringen er central. Den lokale købmand ligger 250 m fra huset, og 30 m fra huset ligger kajen, hvor der er mulighed for at fiske. Der er 4 værelser, 2 større og 2 mindre. Tilsammens er der 7 sovepladser. Kun 10 min kørsel til fodboldhal, svømmehal, café’er og resturanter.

Gestatún

Feriehus i hjertet af Sumba Dette over 100 år gamle charmerende lille hus. Beliggende er midt i den fredelige bygd Sumba, hvor fjeldene møder havets evige åndedrag og et sted hvor tiden synes at stå stille af smukhed, hvor naturens ro hersker. Herfra har du en betagende udsigt over både bygden og det åbne hav, som skifter farve med vejret og årstiderne. Boligen Huset er renoveret med respekt for dets historie og sjæl.

Ólavsstova

Although no one knows exactly how old Ólavsstova is, it dates back to the time when court was held in the village, and has belonged to the same family since the 17’th century. Whether you are looking for a starting point for nature experiences close to both the beach and the mountains, family vacation, walk in historical footsteps, or find peace far from the hustle and bustle of the city, Ólavsstova is the place for you.

A soulful home by the fjord in Vági, Suðuroy

Welcome to my personal Faroese home overlooking the fjord in Vági, Suðuroy. Built in 1846, the house has been in my family for four generations. My 20+ cousins and I spent our childhood holidays here at our grandparents’ home. When I bought it, I restored it to honor those memories. A place for slow mornings, changing light, and evenings by the wood-burning stove — perfect for those who value character over perfection.

Traditionelt ældre Færøsk hus (hyggelig stemning) i skønne omgivelser med god udsigt over fjorden. 10m til bådebro hvor der kan fiskes fra, adgang til kano og robåd (på eget ansvar) 5 min. gang fra supermarked. 15 min. gang fra Tvøroyri. 10 min gang til å med gode muligheder for øred/lakse fiskeri m.m. Fiskeudstyr forfindes til fri afbenyttelse. Tæt på vandreruter. (Her kan "visit Suðuroy" være behjælpelige")

Det gule hus

Slap af i denne unikke og rolige bolig med havudsigt, kulkomfur og plads til at slappe af i rigtig mormorstil. Huset fra 1901 er velbeholdt med indretning fra den tidligere ejer men med nye tekstiler. Her er alt, hvad du har brug for, kort til strand, madvarebutik og legeplads. Boligen indeholder en dobbeltseng, to enkelt senge, en sovesofa og luftmadras, hvis nødvendigt.
