Although the tour takes six hours, it is easily doable and not exhausting, and time flies. Master the art of riding these splendid machines on a tour through Westminster in central London. After meeting us at London Scottish House, 95 Horseferry Road, Westminster, SW1P 2DX, we will introduce you to the Penny Farthing bicycle, provide you with your equipment including helmets and let you know what you will be doing during the experience. Then we will head out onto the streets where you will learn to safely mount, ride and dismount. Keen to ride more? After a short coffee break, we will head out on a leisurely guided journey around the Westminster area, past many iconic locations such as the Palace of Westminster, Parliament Square, Churchill War Rooms, the gardens of 10 Downing Street and Buckingham Palace. After a short photo stop we will then roll on back to London Scottish House and return to the present day! This walk follows government guidelines on combating covid to ensure guest safety. This walk is a History of London and walk through time. We will walk around quiet backstreets from Westminster to Vauxhall discussing subjects as diverse as royal history, finance and British culture. We will visit a Georgian cathedral town and pleasure garden, a Victorian penal port and graveyard, a Bronze Age port and religious site, and a 21st-century city that is still under construction. You will be immersed in different historical periods and will hear about lots of gossip and scandal. This walk actively encourages your participation. Other things to note Bring sensible walking shoes and rainwear—this is an all-weather walk. I will provide hand sanitiser. Occasionally some back streets are blocked off due to filming or local events taking place. When this happens or if guests have a particular interest in the History of the British Monarchy an alternative route/tour is offered which finishes in Trafalgar Square. Introducing London's Most Ig-Worthy Photo Walk; the relaxed way to make memories in authentic locations that you won't find with a quick web search. By choosing my experience, you get a 2 hr walking tour of some of the most beautiful hidden spots in London with a private guide; AND my expertise as a photographer to take your pictures along the way. It’s more relaxed than a professional photoshoot, however you still get high quality images. Joining a small-group tour is also a great way to socialise if you’re a solo traveller! - Small group sessions (great for solo travellers!) are Mon, Tues, Thurs & Fri from 12pm-2pm and cost £38 per person. This price covers the tour and all photos taken on your phone. You're welcome to upgrade to my professional camera, all raw images and edited images package for a small fee. - All private bookings include my professional camera, all raw photos & 40 edited. London is only truly experienced when you venture off the well-worn tourist track so that you can see, hear and feel the place the same way a local does. Only then will you get close to the true essence, to the true heart, to the very fabric of the place you are in and have an experience like no other. We are going to leave the touristy mainstream London to the side and explore its unseen and authentic neighbourhoods outside the centre because this is where the ordinary Londoners acutally live their everyday lifes! We'll see vibrant communities, walk along a local street market, discover urban oddities, delve into London's modern urban history, and examine its current challenges as well as future developments. Although the tour takes six hours, it is easily doable and not exhausting, and time flies. While moving around on trains and buses you'll be able to sit a bit and there's also a 40-min lunch break at a market in between. (Food not included.) START: at Paddington station (West London) FINISH: near Canada Water station (South East London) The experience might end 15 mins late if traffic is slow. I recommend taking my tour right at the beginning of your visit because it will greatly enhance your understanding of London.
