Misty Mountain Hut - Ruapehu

Misty Mountain Hut-Ruapehu is located in the sleepy little village of Rangataua, 5 minutes distance to Mountain road going up to the Turoa skifield and Ohakune. The 1 bedroom colonial villa has a beautiful view of the mountain. Unlimited wifi and a new firebox with plenty of firewood and a heat pump ensure you are warm in winter. My favourite time here is summer for amazing walks/cycling up mountains to enjoy majestic views. Misty Mountain Hut supports local staff by paying $40/hr for cleaning.

Gum Tree Haven

Our place is close to the great Tongariro National Park. It includes Mt Ruapehu for skiing or snow boarding and tramping. Walk the world famous Tongariro Crossing and discover the cycle ways, kayak the Whanganui River and explore the 'Bridge to No Where'. Try trout fishing, a game of golf or visit the Waiouru Army Museum. Enjoy our cosy home with a wood fire whilst taking in the amazing mountain and rural views. Our place is good for couples and families (with kids) or small groups.

Waireka Apartment, situated in Ohakune in the Ruapehu District is a self contained 2 bedroom apartment each with a queen size bed, a large lounge with mountain views, kitchen and own spa pool. Spa Pool operates from 10am to 10pm Cleaning on departure is included in the rate. Excellent wood burner and heat pump for those cold winter nights and air con for those hot summer nights. Close to Mount Ruapehu and Lake Taupo. Ideal for those wanting to ski, tramp, fish, or enjoy all the attractions around Central Plateau. Excellent base for the Tongariro Crossing. My place is close to family-friendly activities and restaurants and dining.

Kosbys Cottage, Tongariro

Kosbys Cottage, Tongariro provides excellent value for money, offering ample space for families (children over 2 years old) or small groups of friends. A snug retreat during winter, thanks to a very efficient wood-burner (there is no heat pump). The spacious couch is perfect for unwinding, while the well-equipped kitchen, resembling that of a caterer’s, includes an espresso machine and opens out onto a charming patio area with a barbecue, herb garden, and stunning vistas.

Cosy in the Centre of Ohakune

This one bedroom apartment is on the ground floor of our family home (we live on the 2nd and 3rd floors). It is in the middle of Ohakune, halfway between Turoa Junction and Ohakune centre. They're a walks close by, Turoa is 20 minutes drive away and we have a list of walks that are nearby and suit a range of people. Parking is right in front of the apartment as per the photos in the listing. Our house manual also has a list of the best spots in Ohakune to check out.
