Mirror Lake offers stunning views of Tenaya Canyon, Mount Watkins and the Washington Column and gives hikers a different perspective of Half Dome, looking directly up at it. Plus, the lake offers beautiful mirrored views of the surrounding cliffs. The trail is open year-round, but the best time to visit is during spring and early summer when the lake is filled by the flowing Tenaya Creek -towards the end of the summer the lake can get pretty dry. If you go during spring or early summer, make sure to bring your bathing suit to swim!

Beat the crowds and watch the sun rise on an early morning hike to this lovely lake near the east end of Yosemite Valley. From Half Dome Village you can also rent bikes for an afternoon, and ride the easy 1.5 miles on a paved pathway to Mirror Lake. The pathway leading up to the lake is gorgeous, and walking a bit around the lake will give you a unique view of Half Dome.

A great, low-angle hike that even kiddos can do. Great views of Half Dome and Mirror Lake is a great place for a dip. The lake dries up by autumn though!

Hiking to the mirror lake view point will offer a gorgeous sight of Half Dome, Mt Watkins, Washington Column, and Tenaya Canyon- and their reflections sparkling in Mirror Lake! (Summer Note: the lake unfortunately dries up in the summer months, but the view is still lovely in spite of it!)
