HIGHLY recommend doing the architecture river cruise. I've done it a handful of times since moving to Chicago and its my favorite. The sunset cruise is also lovely too. Bar on board.

Architecture river cruise. See the best architecture Chicago has to offer on an open air river boat. Tours leave every half hour in season from navy pier.
