The Australian National Maritime Museum is Australia’s national centre for maritime collections, exhibitions, research and archaeology. It's just a walk away, and as well as the internal exhibitions also has a variety of vessels on the wharves outside.

You can get to see and board a battleship and submarine. The James Cameron Challenger Deep Exhibit was both amazing and inspiring. If you go through all the exhibits it could take you at least a half day as the museum is fairly huge. Truly worth the price of admission.
