Definitely worth the drive for a lovely afternoon. Shop local crafts, have some of the best homemade pies, breads, jams and other treats, visit the woodworkers and furniture builders...

A visit to Ohio Amish Country is a must for the Wayne county area. It should be fun and relaxing. But, there are always questions about what you’ll encounter and how to negotiate challenges. Amish Country has the added mystery of being home to a faith-guided group that seeks separation from external influence. Popular culture and media represent these folks as yokels trapped in time, but you won’t hear any “thees” and “thous” here. You can put away your Pennsylvania Dutch dictionary because we are planning to tell you what you need to know while you make Amish Country your second home. Each season brings different adventures. You will get a feel of taking a step back in time when electricity had not yet been invented and an appreciation for the simplier things in life.

Be witness to bucolic scenes and admirable lifestyles. Can't say enough about how much I love Amish things.

The Amish country of Ohio is now bigger than the settlements of Pennsylvania. These people live a life from yester-year, believing that modern conveniences (such as electricity) reduce our interdependence of a close community, thereby leading to the breakdown of society. They are God-centered, dress in old-fashioned clothing, travel by horse and carriage, and speak in "Pennsylvania Dutch". A whole culture to be discovered!
