Misty Mountain Hut - Ruapehu

Misty Mountain Hut-Ruapehu is located in the sleepy little village of Rangataua, 5 minutes distance to Mountain road going up to the Turoa skifield and Ohakune. The 1 bedroom colonial villa has a beautiful view of the mountain. Unlimited wifi and a new firebox with plenty of firewood and a heat pump ensure you are warm in winter. My favourite time here is summer for amazing walks/cycling up mountains to enjoy majestic views. Misty Mountain Hut supports local staff by paying $40/hr for cleaning.

Whakaipo Sunsets with Spa

Only 10 minutes drive from town, our house sits high up on a hill over looking Whakaipo Bay, Lake Taupo's western bays and the surrounding farmland. Feel like you are in the middle of nowhere while only being minutes from the lively town of Taupo. Our large front porch and yard is the perfect place to enjoy time with your loved ones. Only minutes to Whakaipo Bay- a large calm bay that is the perfect swimming spot for the whole family. Sit back, relax and enjoy the views- in our new spa!

Lake Taupo Water View Tongariro & Whakapapa Skiing

This treetops lakeview retreat is located on the South Western side of Lake Taupo. Tongariro Crossing, Mt Ruapehu Skifield, Turangi Adventure Tourism, hotpools, great bush walks and trout fishing are all within close proximity. Admire lake views and listen to birdsong from the treetops. Enjoy barista style coffee, grab a book and simply relax and enjoy the views from the expansive deck. At night, why not barbecue with drinks on the deck or in the winter, enjoy the ambience of the warm fire!

Warm and cosy in winter (heatpump), shade in summer with large flat section of lawn, garden and trees. Very close to river within walking distance across the bridge to Turangi shops. Our modern home is 15 minutes from Taupō yet feels like a private hideaway. Quiet and secluded, it looks out to Lake Taupō and Mount Ruapehu, with stunning sunsets. Ideal year-round, it has outdoor areas with BBQ, large windows and a double-sided fireplace. Whakaipo Bay is 5 minutes away for swimming or walking, with plenty of bush tracks nearby. Not suitable for children. Hairdryer, toiletries and iron not provided (sorry guests keep taking them and it’s to hard to constantly replace).

There’s plenty of off street parking in this quiet street. Kōwhai Hideaway is a ground floor apartment underneath Piwakawaka Lodge. They can be rented together for large groups.
