Springvale Farm Cottages: Wilde Als

Escape the city life for a weekend getaway. Springvale Farm offers endless opportunities to relax and explore the KZN Midlands. Wilde Als is a beautiful spacious 2 bedroom cottage with an open plan living area and an indoor fireplace. It is set slightly away from the other cottages providing unrivalled privacy.

YELLOWWOODS FARM - The Sheep Shed (self catering)

We like to think that we have the best of both worlds here at Yellowwoods. The benefits of farm life, yet easy access to cafes, restaurants, bicycles trails, farmers markets, Boschhoek+Gowrie golf courses, Clifton Notties Prep school and Michaelhouse. Only 2kms off the N3, we are easily accessible and very easy to find. We are a little farm, so expect a bit of ‘farm noise’ and general day-to-day goings on! The MatopHouse – an idyllic Midlands escape

Solar-powered MatopHouse is a very carefully considered sanctuary. It's enveloped by a garden frequented by birds, hares, a mongoose and duikers, and has views of the distant Karkloof hills. The house is full of character (and books), and is a tranquil space in which to read, write, cook, create – and to simply "be". Set on a quiet eco-estate on the fringe of Howick, it is conveniently close to the Ambers, the Karkloof trails, the Midlands Meander, Midmar Dam, and numerous cafes and attractions.

MacLeod House Guest Cottage-Nature lovers' getaway

MacLeod House Guest Cottage is a self-contained stone cottage nestled on the edge of the Krantzkloof Nature Reserve. The open plan accommodation is decorated in an Edwardian style but with all the modern conveniences you might require. The cottage overlooks the magnificent Krantzkloof gorge. There is an abundance of bird life for birding enthusiasts and a tranquil setting in which to relax whilst enjoying the sound of the Nkonka Falls directly below the property. A 'must see' for nature lovers.

Pennygrove Cottage, 4 Sleeper Midlands getaway

Quaint 4 sleeper cottage with an exquisite dam view... the perfect place to unwind and relax. The smallest of three units on the property, it is perfect for couples, or a small family looking for a beautiful Midlands break away. (The other units are a 6 Sleeper Farmhouse - please see 'Pennygrove Farmhouse' and a 6 Sleeper shed conversion - see 'Nguni Cottage') Lovely walks and Bass fishing to keep you busy during the day, and a fire pit for those cold Midlands nights. Family Country Cottage near Nottingham Road

Paddocks Cottage on Newstead Farm nestles in the rolling hills near Nottingham Road. Here you can find dams for boating and bass fishing, a tennis court and 25ha of indigenous forest! This rural smallholding farm with Nguni Cows and retired horses has a significant history from the 1840's and gives you the chance to experience the true peace and tranquillity of the countryside, but yet is very central to top restaurants, golf courses, wedding venues and schools. The farm runs on solar power.

Experience luxury tented living on the banks of the Karkloof River. Inspired by classic safari tents, this elegant unit offers every modern comfort and breathtaking mountain and valley views. A high-clearance vehicle is recommended for access, although also navigable for lower vehicles.

The cottage is situated in The Dargle Valley bordering a forestry estate and overlooks the uMngeni River. It is nestled in the trees next to the main house on Woodsong Farm, which is a small life-style farm where you are free to explore the surroundings. Enjoy walks to the small dam with a picnic basket and bird-watch, take photos, enjoy some casual fishing and wild-swimming.
