Whether it is hiking in the mountains, surrounded by beautiful nature, wildlife and birds, relaxing next to our natural stream that runs through the property with a book or wondering around the shops and restaurants down the road - there is something for everyone here at Highbourne Cottages.

Leopards Lair Lodge

Come and unwind with family and friends at this peaceful mountain lodge which is situated on a working sheep farm. Enjoy sweeping mountain views and unbeatable sunsets. Go fishing in our bass dams, unleash your shooting skills at our long distance shooting range, enjoy beautiful scenic walks or snuggle up next to our wood burning fire place for a complete farm style getaway. NB: As this farm is a working farm, it is advisable for vehicles with good ground clearance (4x4 is not necessary).

Apple Orchard Cottage

A bright, fully furnished studio cottage in a quiet, upmarket suburb halfway between Johannesburg and Durban. Central to exploring the treasures of the northern Drakensberg and NE Free State. Ideal for overnight stops; as an adventure base for the outdoor enthusiast; and for the academic seeking a quiet space for producing important works. Access to a spacious garden; shops 1 km away; very close to Platberg Nature Reserve. We love our home and area, and would love to share these with you.

Bee’s Knees Cottage

Self-catering 5 sleeper cottage 6kms outside Winterton on a gravel road. Close to the Central Drakensberg and many family activities. We are close to the N3, 2½hours from Durban and 3½hours from Johannesburg. A quiet, peaceful setting with beautiful views. There is only one unit which is adjacent to the main farm house & is within the electrified fence with remote controlled gate & secure parking. Our dogs also roam the property and love to welcome our guest.

We have a small lake on the property a flowing river rushing through the bottom of the garden, the property is massive so perfect for trails for young ones near the river there are also pockets and pools to swim in the river.
