Enjoy the true outdoors with an easy 3/4 - 1 mile private nature hike hosted by a pack of loose, well trained German Shepherd Dogs. The hike starts at our farm in coastal Maine and wanders through a network of trails winding through a natural wild Maine forest. You will be hiking with a large pack of (5 to 12) loose german shepherd dogs of various ages who will want attention along the way! On the walk there are soft forest trails, sometimes mud puddles and slippery footing. Throughout our adventure you will learn tips on hiking with a pack of German Shepherds the way they communicate and what their body language means. Once we return there will be bathroom facilities, snacks and beverages. We will also talk about how we raise and imprint our young shepherds and prepare them as family companions. Your hosts for the nature walk will be either Jennifer, Katie, or both! We began offering pack walks at our open house for our German Shepherd Breeding program, and because of the enthusiasm and popularity, we decided to host this event through Airbnb. This is a private, hosted experience for a total of 2 hours. You should be an outdoor enthusiast for this experience. This is not a spa. We meet at the nursery greenhouse where we grow desert plants. Then take a 3 minutes short walk through the desert, perhaps encountering some wildlife on our way to a small private water feature where you will experience natural hot springs from deep within the San Andreas fault. Conversation will include how the hot springs occur, local wildlife, plants, geographic points of interest, and other interesting information regarding the sanctuary and surrounding areas. Then Reset and connect with Mother Earth as Panoramic desert views enhance this meditative western sunset. This is a private and primitive Off grid ritual. Every parrot has a story. You’ll learn all about our rainbow-colored rescues in Kona’s only parrot sanctuary. We’ll start with our mission: to give every displaced parrot a nutritious diet, large space to fly, and a safe place to interact with other parrots (and people). Next, we'll take a walk around the sanctuary, where you can get to know the range of personalities of cockatoos, lovebirds, macaws, and more species. Throughout the tour, you will have many photo opportunities, especially with our well-trained parrots. Other things to note: Wear casual clothes, closed-toe shoes, sunscreen, insect repellent, a hat, and bring a camera. Parrots in Paradise Sanctuary is also home to two rescue dogs, two Holstein cows and two sulcata tortoise. While we like to keep our group sizes small to enhance a personal experience, we are open to hosting larger family/friend groups with more than six individuals.

We are Liberty Hill Farm, in Rochester, Vermont! Tours run Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 9 am. Our farm tours are scheduled to coincide with daily chores to allow guests the opportunity to experience daily farm life. Guests will be able to watch the cow milking process and even try their hand at milking! From there, we will explain the journey from cow to milk jug. Guests will learn about the different ages and stages of the dairy cow, from birth through adulthood. We will meet, pet, and even feed baby calves, explore the barns, and meet kitties. Every tour is adjusted to meet the needs and interests of our guests. We encourage our guests to participate hands-on, and encourage questions and ideas! We simply love to share our love of farming and our animals with others! ***All proceeds from our farm tours go directly to our nonprofit organization, Liberty Hill Center for Agricultural Education. *** Other things to note: I only book about a month in advance, so if your preferred date does not appear, check back! Tours will be held rain or shine! I only cancel if temperatures are below zero, so please plan accordingly! It is up to the guest to check weather reports. A Ten Apple Farm goat hike is a two hour recreational and educational goat experience. You'll meet your hosts (and our herd of Alpine dairy goats), and hear about their 16 years of experience with goats and living on a small family farm. Once we've met the goats and the many other animals residents of the farm, we’ll set off on a hike through the Ten Apple Farm woods with the goats and Philip our sheep! The hike consists of an approximately one and a half mile loop trail through our woods on lightly groomed trails. Along the way we’ll talk about goats as pack animals, what they eat, and you’ll learn a thing or two about raising and caring for goats. There's lots of time for interacting with the goats, asking questions, or just soaking in the Maine woods and these adorable, fun animals. We end the experience with fresh goat milk and homemade cookies! Please note: Children must be at least 5 years old and accompanied by an adult. 5 and 6 year olds should plan to hold a parent's hand during the hike. (Children under 4 must be carried). Other things to note: The hike is not strenuous, but there is a little bit of steep terrain in 2 spots. We have rope railings on the trail to assist with getting up and down in those spots, but guests who have bad knees, hips, or other difficulties with uneven or steep terrain should be aware.

Come and spend a day at a farm and make art! We are a woman owned organic farm located near the Sandy River. We have converted a century old dairy barn into a ceramic studio. Let’s spend the day playing with clay and learning together. Here we have options based around your skill level and interests. I can lead you on the potters wheel or in hand building techniques. For an additional cost of $25 per person I will fire your projects in my kiln and you can choose a glaze color for your finished pieces. You can choose to pick up a couple weeks after your booking or pay to have your pieces shipped. During our chocolate factory tour, you will learn in detail how we craft chocolate starting with cocoa beans and ending with wrapped and sealed chocolate bars. We'll discuss: 1. How cacao is grown and where it comes from. 2. How we clean and sort our cocoa beans before production. 3. How we roast, grind, and conche our chocolate to maximize flavor and aroma. 4. And how we temper, mold, and wrap our chocolate bars. We'll also get to examine raw cocoa beans, taste some chocolate in production, and sample a variety of finished chocolate bars with unique flavor characteristics.

Ever been interested in trying your hand at blowing glass? Join me in my flameworking studio and learn how to make your first piece of glass art at Chadly Glass Studio! I’m a professional borosilicate glass blower with over 10 years of experience and offer hands-on, beginner's classes in inner SE Portland. In this introductory group class, students will be taught basic glass blowing safety, skills, and will have the opportunity to create 2-3 pieces of glass art: a mushroom sculpture, wine bottle stopper or pendant, and a small blown ornament. This class may be shared with other individuals (up to 6 participants per class). Class duration is approximately 3 hours. Students get to keep any glass they create, and gain knowledge and hands-on experience in a very unique field. *Glass made during lesson will require kilning for durability, which takes a minimum of 4 hours. Most students choose to pick up the glass they made the next day (or at their earliest convenience).* ** Participants are required to sign a liability waiver prior to instruction. Minimum age requirement is 14 years old. Participants between ages 14-17 must have their parent/guardian present for the duration of the class. Classes are open to people of all skill levels and abilities! However, dexterity in both hands and the ability to recall important safety instruction for the duration of class is crucial.

We strive to integrate the natural wisdom of the llama with the cultural heritage of this intelligent creature by relating knowledge of the Andean cosmology and the Andean spiritual path. Here you will have the opportunity to meet, greet, interact with and communicate with our specially trained llama friends. This Experience is about llamas for wellness and educational proposes. We do believe in llamas as healers and messengers of Mother Nature (Pachamama). We want you to experience their medicine and help us on their training too. Safety is always top priority for guests and the llamas, so our program will be different on a winter day after a rainy week than it will be on a hot August afternoon. Please wear comfortable shoes and country clothing. We will put you into situations where you will be able to understand who these llamas are, personally discovering the different personalities that make up our herd. Other things to note We will introduce you to our "Speechless Brothers". Be prepared to learn all about llamas. They are smart, clean and personable. Let them know you are as well.

Paint/ Photoshoot;an introduction to the Artist, a brief history of murals, importance of public art, examples of works in Miami. (No Artistic talent is necessary.) -Introduction to materials, brushes, spray paint, rollers, drop cloths, latex paint, tape and palettes. -Then an explanation of the process and meaning of 'underpainting" as the first step of creating a community mural. A community mural involves groups of people creating together, I will show you the tasks and different sections of the mural. Each participant will be encouraged and given instruction on all facets of the mural. A group photo and progress shots will be taken during the mural process. -How to create a wash, painting with water to make the next stage after underpainting possible is my signature style. -Using different brushes to make different lines as well as the "dry brush" technique for shading on some realistic images will be explored by all in attendance. Then the best way for everyone to enjoy their time is to learn by doing! Set up and introduction is 15 minutes, The actual painting is one hour and the post/photoshoot is 15 minutes. The Final stage of details and photoshoot with your work to always remember the experience. Creating a permanent mural in the mural capital of the world "Wynwood" on a highly visible intersection will culminate in a group unveiling as we say "Artworld!!!! Other things to note Please wear clothing that you don't mind getting paint on, the paint will not come out of your clothing, it is non toxic paint it will not harm your skin or hair. You can take your shoes off so it not necessary to bring 'old' shoes.

While visiting the artist's studio, you learn the process of blowing glass, and basic glassblowing techniques including taking a gather, marvering, blow'n-cap, and shaping glass. The workshop is very hands-on, focused on the process instead of the final product. With experienced glass artists, you make 2 to 3 small objects such as a paperweight, ornament/float, and/or drinking glass, to take home. Glassblowing is a team work. We strongly recommend to experience this with another person. If you are solo, you may still book a spot. However, the single booker should expect to finish earlier. Best to wear a cotton top and cotton pants. Open-toed shoes are not allowed. Please bring a pair of sunglasses with you. Be prepared to be hot and sweaty, and to have fun! BYOB if you like. Guests will be transported from a centrally-located site in San Diego county to the international border in San Ysidro. With a Permit application already completed by host from information provided by guests, crossing the border will be cut from a potential 1 hour to about 10 minutes. Along with a brief historical account and cultural explanation, the experience will include a visit to the Friendship Park, a stroll through historic Revolucion street, as well as a the visit to several iconic areas of the city which will lead to a better understanding of its development. Visitors will also explore a colorful local market, where they will interact with local vendors, learn about, and have the opportunity to sample indigenous foods. The tour will conclude with a visit to a local food court where guests will have the opportunity to savor Tijuana's fusion cuisine, also known as Baja-Med. Finally, they will be driven to the international border, picked up and taken back to the original meeting location in San Diego. The host will escort guests the entire time. Other things to note -Valid passport ** Due to the recent re-opening of the border, the wait to come back to the US has been unusually long. Please expect to wait between 1.5 - 2 hours.

A fly rod is built in the same way that bamboo grows. From the bottom, or butt, to the tip. You will remove a node from a 12' culm of Tonkin bamboo, using a small hack saw, as the first step in seeing how a custom 8' node-less fly rod is made. Then you will split one of 72 splints needed to form the tip or butt of the rod with a hammer and knife. You will scarf one splint to shape it for gluing. Fancy planing, shaping the cork handle, and silk wrapping will be demonstrated along with the final varnish dip. At the end of the class you are invited to cast a variety of rods that I have made with a casting lesson on the "green river" of my lawn. In 2 hours you will see how the rod is made but you will not build a completed rod -- my first rod took me 100 hours. Other things to note Wear comfortable clothes that you don't mind getting dirty. If you have a favorite fly reel that you want to try on a finished rod bring it along.

We will then drop anchor in a little bay close to some of the most expensive houses in Miami, allowing our sailors to swim in the shallow, crystal clear waters of Miami Bay if they wish, and then return to the original meeting point enjoying the air and views from the yacht while sunbathing on the bow of the boat or relaxing with your friends over a few beers as you are allowed to bring your own drinks and snacks on board. You will have a great time with us, you will make new friends and you might have the chance to see dolphins that love to swim alongside the boats. Please be aware that our experience takes place in one of the busiest areas of Miami Beach. If you come with your own vehicle, we recommend that you take an additional 15-20 minutes to find parking nearby. Join Captain Joe for a relaxing private boat cruise over to our oyster farm where you will shuck and slurp oysters straight out of the water, and learn about our Shellfish Reef Restoration project. This trip lasts 1.5-2 hours and is available for up to 6 people . Kids of all ages are welcome to come but I find that children ages 9+ get the most enjoyment out of this type of trip. BlissWood Forest is located in Coastal Maine one hour south of Acadia National Park. You will arrive at Corgi Bliss, in the town of Penobscot, on the edge of the forest. There you will meet your hosts, the Corgis along with Jennifer or Katie. Drinks will be offered, as well as a discussion about safety while walking with the corgis . We will set off on our journey through the fields, and into BlissWood Forest. The easy half-mile hike is well maintained and goes at a leisurely pace. The loose Corgis will be scurrying about ahead as they sniff the ground and try to pick up the scent of pixie dust. Help the Corgis find the hidden treasure chests and secret swellings along the path. We pause a lot for selfies, kisses and cuddles from the animals. Then we loop down the trail and return to Corgi Bliss, where drinks and snacks are to be had before saying our goodbyes. We will be outdoors in the fresh air and forest, wear layered clothing and shoes that protect your feet from the elements. Enjoy the earthy smells and forest sounds, and the corgis. Create a one of a kind dessert inspired candle. With over 150 design options, our candle-making class is unique because we create candles that look and smell like edible foods! Guests will be shown different varieties of wax toppings that we make in our facility and receive guidance in creating their design. Guests will be able to take home their candle creation and will have completed the class with unique candle making knowledge and experience. This experience guarantees time relaxing in a field of goats, observing herd dynamics, an educational Q&A with a knowledgeable goat farmer. Relax with the herd in the barn or bring a blanket along and sit with goats in the pasture. Our goats really enjoy the company and might even rest on the ground with you. This is an outdoor experience and weather might impact your visit; we do not operate during inclement weather. We love pets but for everyone’s safety we cannot allow visiting pets to the farm. Please feel free to b.y.o.b. just note our herd is underage. We also have a farm stand that is open for purchasing hand crafted goat milk soaps and other goods sourced right here on the farm! Expect to get dirty and dress in clothing that you don't mind having hoof prints on!

Upon your arrival to Oahu, you'll begin to see how surfing is Hawaiian culture. As you get into Waikiki, everywhere you look you will see surfboards...... It is now time to embrace your surroundings and let us show you the Hawaiian way. We will begin by introducing the details of the surfboard. Then discuss the fundamentals including positioning on board, etiquette, paddling, how & when to stand up, & what to do once you are on the wave. We will discuss ocean safety, awareness and safety. Once the land training is done, we will walk right across the street and enter the water, don't worry about carrying any surfboards, we have a cart for that. Once we are in the water we will guide you to the best spot to position yourself to catch waves. We will be by your side and provide the extra push to get on the wave. It doesn't matter if you are a beginner or intermediate surfer, we can help all levels advance your skills on a surfboard and teach you about the area you are surfing in. After the lesson we will go back to the shop, have the barista whip us up a drink from our coffee bar, relax, and chat.
