Gone Fishing

You'll have a great time at this comfortable place to stay. In our fully functional 3 bedroom home. You are literally a stones throw away from the beach that has one of NZs best sunsets. If bush walks are your thing , we have some easy but delightful walks from half hour upto 3 hour walks. Okarito has guided Kiwi tours, hire Kayaks or go on the world famous guided boat tour. Okarito offers great sea fishing or fresh water fishing. The top story is the private dwelling of the owner.

Okarito Cottage - Tigh Na Mara

Beautiful, small but comfortable cottage close to the Tasman sea, native bush and Ōkārito Lagoon. Open plan kitchen/living area with well equipped kitchen and a very efficient wood burning fire. Short stairs leading down to bathroom and bedroom. Queen bedroom with french doors leading out onto private deck area. Amazing views of the southern alps from different points in and around the house. This is a unique space with a homely feel by the sea in a friendly and welcoming community.

Harakeke Heights

Take a break and unwind at this modern three-bedroom home, nestled up against hills with an abundance of bird life. Come and explore what the West Coast has to offer; scenic flights, kayaking, hiking, wildlife and nature tours, and relaxing by the fire with a good book. We are situated 5 minutes drive from Franz Josef township, 15 minutes drive from the Glacier Valley carpark and 25 minutes drive from Ōkārito beach. There is a walking/MTB track 200m walk from our house.

Relax with the whole family at this peaceful place to stay. Positioned right on the main highway as you travel through South Westland you are only a few minutes walk away from the local shop, pub and the Guy Menzies memorial gardens. Directly across the road you have access to a 20min native bush walk. Surrounded by mountain views you can enjoy what the town has to offer or use as a stopping point and take a day trip south to the glaciers only 50min drive south.
