Located on the edge of sprawling valley farmland with views of glistening Lake Mapourika, towering mountains and rainforest at the base of the New Zealand Southern Alps. Unwind in nature's embrace. Sink into an outdoor bean bag on the expansive lawn or take a long soak in the large spa pool whilst taking in the panoramic views and sensational sunsets! You are welcome to pick from the herb garden for your cooking. The cottage is located a 5-minute drive from Franz Josef Glacier township.

There is a walking/MTB track 200m walk from our house.

The beach is 3 minutes walk, the Lagoon, teeming with birdlife, and hiking tracks into the natural world, are at your doorstep. Franz Josef is just 20 minutes drive. Oh and did I mention the sunsets.........?

Little Yellow Bach

The Little Yellow Bach is the perfect couples retreat. Cute and cozy it offers everything for a relaxing getaway. It has enough parking for all your toys, including caravan - RV. Fishing, kayaking, and roasting marshmallows over a beach fireplace is on your door step! Several family owned businesses in Okarito offer walking and boating tours to see the beautiful White Heron and other bird life, including the Kiwi.

Misty peaks guesthouse

Misty Peaks Guesthouse has 5 ensuite bedrooms with super King size beds (all beds can be spilt into singles if required please advise in advance) and 1 room is a twin that has a separate bathroom. From Misty peaks you will be able to see Rainforest covered hills and Mt cook and Mt Tasman from your kitchen window and also from 3 of the bedrooms. All bedrooms have heating and all beds are fitted with electric blankets.

The handcrafted wooden staircase leads to the bedroom upstairs. Bathroom, kitchen and livingroom area are downstairs. The Southern Alps are visible from most locations on the property.
