Storybook Northwoods Log Cabin on Lake Superior

Painted Rock sits perched on a quaint spit of ledge rock, halfway between Lutsen and Grand Marais, on the edge of Cascade State Park. This historic log cabin has been lovingly restored to retain all its original charm and history, while updated with all the luxury amenities. A large Main Room is home to a wood-burning fireplace, dining table, game table, and picture windows that bring the Big Lake indoors in all seasons. A bathroom with a deep soaker tub and heated floors adds spa-like comfort.

The Ferny Fern: Off-grid cabin and sauna near G.M.

Enjoy serene North woods seclusion just two and a half miles from Grand Marais! At the end of a foot path you'll find yourself at this charming off-grid cabin set in the forests of the Lake Superior bluff. This quaint cabin is filled with windows bringing views of the surrounding wood. It features a polished/rustic interior complete with well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, and wood stove. Fall River access and guests now have access to a new wood-fired sauna and off grid-shower house.

Riverwood Hideaway

This off-grid, solar powered hideaway is on the Knife River just a few miles outside of Two Harbors, Minnesota. The cabin itself is loaded with comfort. A full kitchen, propane refrigerator, solar powered lights and a gas fireplace/furnace offer the conveniences of home. There is an outhouse and firewood for the outdoor firepit. You will have to bring your own water for drinking, but we provide hand and dish washing water at the sink. We have coffee with pour over utensils, dishes, spices.

Superior Lakefront Cabin - Beach - Trail Access

Lakefront cabin located at the site of historic Captain's Cove Boat Tours. The interior has been newly renovated to include modern fixtures and finishes to an open floor plan that maximizes the breathtaking views of Lake Superior. For epic panoramas of the lake head out to the yard for a hot cocoa by the bonfire, or a glass of wine at the charming deck on the bluff's edge. Or take the path down to the private beach featuring 280' of pebble and sand shoreline. Access to bike and hiking trails.

Wolf Track Den Cabin - A cozy cabin, located at the foot of the Gunflint Trail and very close to the city of Grand Marais. Enjoy privacy on 3 acres in Grand Marias, Minnesota. Dog-friendly! This clean, modern, Scandinavian-feeling cabin, sleeps up to 5; 1 Queen, 1 pull out couch, 1 twin bed. We also have a full-sized washer and dryer for your clothes after a day of hiking or skiing. If you’d like an early check-in or a late check-out, simply ask as we can usually accommodate these requests.

The fire pit outside is perfect for relaxing by the fire and making s'mores. Situated near great North Shore adventures, like hiking, biking, paddling, golf, skiing, and snowmobiling.

During your stay, hike through the property, catch glimpses of wildlife, sip coffee by the fire while taking in the sunrise over the lake, or step out to nearby Gooseberry, Black Beach, or Tettegouche. This cabin was built for family gatherings and a recreational retreat and has been in the family for years. We offer a place to sleep 4 with a pull-out couch, full kitchen, bar area, dining table and a small bathroom with a shower and sink. We also have an outside hydrant to rinse off your equipment or clean your fish and game. Be on the lookout for Moose, Deer, Bear, Fox, Grouse, and many of birds and listen for an occasional Timber Wolf in the night. Trailer parking is onsite.
