You’ll fall in love with this hidden gem. Nestled in a secluded corner overlooking the sheltered West End of New Zealand’s favourite beach. Kick back and relax in this calm, stylish space, watching the surfers from your private deck. A 30 second walk will see you basking on the beach or surfing the safe west end break. You’ll feel miles away from the rest of the world surrounded by native bush and birdsong in this peaceful spot and drift off to sleep at night listening to the sound of the waves.

Mountain View Retreat

3 bedroom house with fibre, in central Kawerau location, overlooking river reserve and mountain. 1 km from town centre and supermarket, free town swimming pool and heated spa pool. Dairy and resthome a short walk away. Gateway to the Tarawera Forest and the Tarawera Falls - permit required. A short walk to the Tarawera River. Kawerau is 20 minutes drive to Lake Rotoma, 30 minutes to Whakatane, and about an hour's drive to Rotorua, Tauranga and Opotiki for sightseeing or outdoor activities.

Colleen's Cottage

One room up, queen bed, smart TV, ensuite. Room downstairs, full bathroom, laundry, no dryer but a clothesline on the back deck, books to read everywhere. Full kitchen, best view of the street. Should anything break, please leave me a note or text me. Small desk ND printer available. A Heat pump has been installed for your comfort. The remote is handy just inside the door. Press on and wait a few minutes while it heats up. It has been set at a pleasant setting. Text me if you are unhappy.

Pool House

Cosy pool house offering everything you need for a fantastic holiday in Whakatāne, close to Ohope Beach. This two bedroom property has a separate shower room and well equipped living area with futon. The kitchen includes a microwave, electric hob, electric frying pan, slow cooker, sandwich maker and more. The shared BBQ, outdoor area and lovely pool provide plenty of opportunities for fun-filled family time. Want to bring your furry friend? Make arrangements with the host when you book.

The Observatory, Semi Self-Contained Unit

We welcome you to our home, which has views of the ocean and farmland. The guest area is located on the ground floor. Only a 10 minute stroll into the township of Whakatane, and five minute drive to Ohope Beach, voted one of the safest surf beaches in NZ. The entrance to the famous Nga Tapuwai O Toi walking track is only 2 minutes from our home. If you are into astronomy, the Whakatane Observatory is steps away from our property, open to the public Tuesday and Friday evenings.

Welcome to Bryan’s Beach! Kick back and relax in this calm, stylish space. You can find this special bach on the hidden gem that is Ohiwa Beach. You will be surrounded by fabulous fishing, walking and cycling opportunities. The apartment features 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, bed linen, towels, a flat-screen TV with multiple channels, a dining area, a fully equipped kitchenette, and a terrace with sea views. The property has an outdoor dining area. There is excellent Starlink Wifi.

Have fun with the whole family at this stylish retreat with less than 100m to New Zealand's favourite beach, Ohope. This home has been extensively renovated with modern new kitchen, double glazing, HRV, two heat pumps and wood fire - great all year round. Only a short 7 minute drive to Ohope's international golf course and Port Ohope is popular for launching boats and jet skis. Just enjoy a walk, with lots of walking and bike tracks in the area.

Bush haven private studio

Surrounded by the bush, our unique cosy studio is a welcome retreat. Breakfast and good coffee is provided for our guests. Situated at the top of a hill with good views. We are within walking distance to the beautiful Nga Tapuwai o Toi walking track, 5 mins drive to Ohope beach and Whakatane town. Listen to the call of native birds, including Kiwi. Sit on the deck and watch the sun go down. This is a great place to unwind and relax.
