Please note that the nightly rate is for up to 4 people and includes breakfast. There are 3 bedrooms ideally suited to 5 guests however having 2 singles in one room allows for 6 if required. This can be reconfigured to a queen and a single in the largest bedroom allowing more space in the single room, if preferred.

Mid-Century Modern Masterpiece

This iconic 1960 family home was designed by local architect Don Wilson, a student of Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. The midcentury modern design features a cantilevered terrace, non-load bearing exterior walls, floor-to-ceiling windows, and built-in furniture. It has been beautifully maintained and tastefully restored, with original features like the stereogram, curved wooden panelling and louvered windows. The Wilson House won the 2014 NZIA Enduring Architecture award.

Mowhanau Beach is 15 minutes drive.

Just metres away from iconic Whanganui attractions the Durie Hill Tower and Durie Hill Elevator, this lovely 2bdrm unit is a 5min walk (or elevator trip) down the steps to the river and then across city bridge into town. In a seperate self contained unit from the owner’s main house upstairs, it has a private entrance and own garden area.

Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. With views across the city and out to the water, and still just walking distance to town, this gorgeous character home is perfectly situated in vibrant & creative Whanganui. Note there are steps down from the road to the front door so may not be suitable for those with mobility issues.

'The Dogbox' Architectural Home

'The Dogbox' was hand built by four architects over one year in 2012. Sited on a steep centrally located section, the property is surrounded by native planting. Open plan living downstairs, and two bedrooms upstairs provide a private and secluded setting while only being a 10 minute walk from town.
