A three-bedroom, three sitting room townhouse full of charm, nestling in picturesque Wirksworth in the heart of Derbyshire. There is plenty of space for 6 people and the house is ideal for friends or family - an excellent base for a walking or cycling holiday in the Peak District. Three spacious living rooms allow flexibility to make use of the board games, enjoy the stunning views or just curl up with a good book in front of the log burner. There is a very small outdoor space at the rear.

The cottage was once a Pigeon loft and has been transformed and renovated into a simple characterful living space within the conservation area. A self-contained annexe, with its own kitchen and bathroom plus a separate bedroom on an open-plan mezzanine floor above, accessible via a spiral staircase. There is a large comfortable sofa bed in the living room which can accommodate two adults. There is free parking on the drive for one car. The open-plan nature of the layout make the annexe most suitable to a couple or family of 3 (or 3 close friends!) Please be aware that the stairs can prove challenging to older visitors.

Matchbox Cottage is an idyllic retreat to the South East of the Peak District, perfect for up to 4 people. We have some of the best walks in England right on our doorstep. Dog friendly, one small or medium dog welcome. Situated only a 4 minute downhill walk to the centre of the historic, picturesque village of Wirksworth. Pubs, restaurants, cinema and shops are all close by. Our cottage has been lovingly restored and we hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
