The Back Forty Solar Cottage

Fernances Creek Farm is one hour north of Sydney in the picturesque Wollombi Valley. Ten minutes from Laguna with the Watagan Mountains and Yengo National Park on our doorstep. The Hunter Valley vineyards start here, with Broke & Pokolbin vineyards 45 minutes away. We are a Haflinger Horse stud on 210 acres, with show jumping and eventing facilities. Great for couples and families, the Back Forty Solar Cottage is a fully featured off grid solar home with all of the comforts and space to relax.

Acacia Cottage at Wattle Valley Farm

Acacia Cottage is a recently refurbished modern country cabin on the doorstep of the Hunter Valley wine region, which makes this an ideal base from which to explore everything this region has to offer. The cottage is situated on Wattle Valley Farm adjacent to our living quarters and a short walk to the iconic Wollombi Brook. During your stay, you might even come across some of our friendly native residents like wombats, kangaroos, playpus, echidnas, goannas, kookaburras and black cockatoos.

Disconnect while you experience off-grid solar living in this peaceful valley while enjoying this designer built tiny house. In winter bring extra warm clothes as you can’t run the A|C all night. The view from the tiny house is peaceful and serene and showcases the Valley of Joy. Watch the neighbouring alpaccas, goats and cows grazing and take a bushwalk all just outside your door.

Gypsy’s Bluff

Get cosy and settle into this rustic tiny home hidden in the Beautiful Laguna/Wollombi Valley 1.5 hours from Sydney you will find “Gypsy’s Bluff” Spend lazy mornings having your coffee on the deck listening to the cows, birds and sheep overlooking the beautiful valley. Perfectly located within three minutes to historical Wollombi where you will find coffee shop’s, the General Store, a lovely restaurant, the Wollombi Tavern and the Laguna Trading Post. Wedding bus pick up at front gate.

Close to major wedding venues: Redleaf, Woodhouse and Stonehurst, wineries and everything Hunter & local. Please note: We do not cater for children under 12, nor pets, at this time.

Our charming Eco friendly off grid Tiny home is designed in a private secluded location to unwind, relax, escape the city life and enjoy everything the Hunter Valley has to offer. We are situated on beautiful private bush property just outside of Laguna in the Lower Hunter Valley on 56 acres of land nestled between Yengo National Park and Watagan State Forest, looking down to the rolling valleys below, surrounded by curvaceous ridge lines and picturesque views towards the Northern horizon.

Old Pops-conveniently located to Wollombi Village

A place and an experience to remember Unique stay for wedding guests or for people just wanting a great weekend away from the hussle and bustle of life. Our house is made from tree trunks sourced from our local Wattagan Mountains many years ago. Old Pops has an abundance of wildlife who often will visit. We are a popular choice for wedding guests with a 6 minute drive to Redleaf, Mystwood and Woodhouse and 10 minutes to Stonehurst. Great base for exploring the Hunter vineyards, attending concerts, bushwalking or just relaxing and watching cows wander past.
