Magical Modern Cottage with Garden

Find true escape surrounded by nature at this lovely modern cottage. Once featured in Dwell magazine, this home charms with its clever use of space, custom furniture and finishes, unique and tasteful decor, and outdoor patio and garden. Entire private cottage and shared side and backyard with patio seating. We are happy to suggest hikes, restaurants and other activities. We've compiled an extensive list of our favorite spots, both right in the neighborhood and also farther afield. The property is located in Rockridge, and also quite close to Temescal. Both have lots of great shopping, restaurants, coffee shops, and amenities. We are very pleasant 10-15 minute walk from the Rockridge BART station. BART provides easy access to SF (about 20 min) and other parts of the Bay Area. Parking on our street is free and usually plentiful. Street sweeping is on the second and fourth Monday/Tuesday of each month (check signs to be sure). The bedroom of the cottage is located up a short flight of stairs, so it isn't ideal for anyone with compromised mobility. The bathroom shower is fully functional but some particularly large/tall people may find it a little tight.

The cottage is within walking distance of shopping, parks, restaurants & transportation BART (Subway) MacArthur Station is only 4 blocks away. Take BART straight from Oakland or San Francisco airport. Off-street parking for 3 cars or RV. Fantastic office space. This is a great place to call home when visiting the Oakland/San Francisco Bay Area.

Berkeley Hills Maybeck Cottage

Built in 1925, Maybecks' “Cubby” is your private, rustic, 750 sq ft, carriage house located less than a mile from Cal. Homey and basic - the deck is great for lunch, dinner, or just hanging out. It's an easy walk down to the gourmet ghetto, Thursday Markets, buses and BART. Carport provided, a car is recommended (hey it's located in the hills.) Not baby proofed, minimal fencing - sorry, no pets, babies or toddlers. Smoke free, no butts about it. Sorry, no loud music, or large gatherings.

Carmelita Creek House

The creek house is on a beautiful tree lined street, walking distance to downtown San Carlos. The house is a spacious one bedroom cottage with designer finishes and gorgeous vaulted ceilings. You will be surrounded by mature redwoods on the peaceful balcony and one with nature at the fire pit overlooking a year round creek. Amenities include a full sized kitchen, comfortable workspace, washer/dryer, fast WiFi, cable TV and a gas fireplace. We live in the main house on the property.

New build, all one level, no steps to entrance from street. Private quiet dedicated guesthouse. Plentiful, free street parking w/in one block. Keyless entry. 450 sq ft but feels larger. Queen bed, large closet, full kitchen, large bathroom, private patio. Free W/D. 2-55" TVs with digital antennae +Roku. Kitchen table doubles as desk. No cleaning fee. Our family plays in shared yard late afternoon with 2 friendly dogs. 7-28 days firm. For two guests, choose "2" when booking.

You have a private patio out front, Nespresso maker and pods for those coffee drinkers, and a Smart TV for endless streaming. There are two skylights and French doors which provide lots of light.
