Linger over a coffee in the zen, vine-covered courtyard at this secluded cottage nestled in the back of a period property in Berkeley. Crisp white sheets, craftsman furniture, and painted wooden cladding make for a sophisticated yet rustic haven. The main room is cozy with a big skylight, comfortable queen bed, swivel chair, and desk and chair. There is a small kitchenette. Built in 1925, Maybecks' “Cubby” is your private, rustic, 750 sq ft, carriage house located less than a mile from Cal. Homey and basic - the deck is great for lunch, dinner, or just hanging out. It's an easy walk down to the gourmet ghetto, Thursday Markets, buses and BART. Carport provided, a car is recommended (hey it's located in the hills.) Not baby proofed, minimal fencing - sorry, no pets, babies or toddlers. Smoke free, no butts about it. Sorry, no loud music, or large gatherings.

You’ll feel like you’re staying in the country, when in fact, you’re only 5 minutes away from UC Berkeley and BART, with easy access to San Francisco.

Private North Berkeley In-law unit

This completely private portion of our North Berkeley home is usually available only Fri, Sat, and Sun nights, except where otherwise indicated on the calendar. If you plan to leave on Monday, check out will need to be early (9:00am). We usually cannot be flexible on that as we use it for other purposes Mon-Fri most weeks.
