Our house is situated on a small hill near to the Cerknica Lake which disappears in the summer but offers an amazing insight into its Karst bed. This had been our family home for 14 years until 2013 when we moved to Germany and we love spending our summers there. For us, it is a perfect retreat from the busy life in a big city and we enjoy the calmness of the unspoiled nature around the house. Please treat it with respect! Community tax must be paid at the property : 1,25 eur/night/person.

The Dormouse House is a 230-year-old house which was meticulously renovated. We kept the old charm but added some modern amenities to make your stay more pleasant. The house is situated in a quiet village from where you can have several hikes. The house has a spectacular view of Lake Cerknica, one of the largest wetlands in Slovenia with high diversity of plants and animals.

17 let stara lesena hiša, zgrajena v tradicionalnem arhitekturnem slogu, značilnem za Babno Polje. Stoji na robu vasi, 100 metrov od strnjenega gozda, polnega divjadi, ki je del kompleksa snežniških gozdov. Odlično izhodišče za pohode v naravi, opazovanje medvedov in drugih živali, obisk Snežnika, Križne jame in Cerkniškega jezera ter narodnega parka Risnjak na Hrvaškem.

Relax in this small village below Križna gora. The house is traditional and several hundreds years old. Guest can use stove that uses wood (also gas is available) and warm themselfs with traditional bread oven in cold months of the year.
