The Birdnest

Relax & unwind at this unique and tranquil getaway. It's all about the views, cosy atmosphere, serenity & proximity to Dungog services. With a wrap-around balcony on two sides, the view from both inside & outside takes in glimpses of Barrington Tops National Park to the north, expansive views of surrounding farms, valleys & hills to the east & south, and the township of Dungog below. The native birds at dusk are a delight. "The Birdnest" is ideal for up to 2 couples, or a family of 4 (or 5?).

Our historic Cottage has stood graciously on the banks of the Barrington River since the 1880s. Scenic countryside is at your doorstep: enjoy a rambling walk and splash in the river. In winter, rekindle by the slow combustion fire, and let your soul unwind. Take in the tranquil scenery, with beauty that captivates as the seasons change. Inala, which means peaceful place, is the perfect escape. Nestled on 7 acres of native bushland, this architect designed home boasts complete privacy and commands spectacular views across to the Barrington Tops through its extensive North facing windows. Featuring open plan living with polished timber floors and vaulted ceiling the feeling is relaxed, bright and spacious and the perfect antidote to a hectic life. We have 2 bedrooms with king sized beds, one which splits into two singles.

Close to The Common mountain bike tracks and a stroll to Dungog's emerging arts scene, historical James Theatre, Tin Shed Brewery, cafes, restaurants and boutiques.

Bowarra Farmstay on the Manning River

Bowarra is an 85 hectare biodynamic beef farm 12 minutes from Wingham and 30 mins from Taree, Saltwater and Old Bar beach. Bounded by the Manning river and Burrell Creek guests have access to plenty of freshwater activities. The house offers a peaceful and secluded stay complete with inside fire and outdoor fire pit. You are welcome to interact with us and our cows, pigs, goats, ducks and chickens. Pets permitted by request.
