Off Grid Converted Sugar Shack

This little rustic OFF GRID converted sugar shack is perfect for a quiet getaway. There are 2 solar panels that feed the lighting and water pump; limited, non-drinking water for the 2 sinks (summer only); and compostable toilet. There is no shower, no oven and no fridge. A cooler, an urn of drinking water and firewood are provided. The shack is on our 35 acre property, with our home 500ft down the lane. You will have access to our property to walk through the maple forest and wildflower meadow.

🍁This cabin site is tucked into the forest at the base of the Deacon Escarpment with a view of the Bonnechere Valley Hills. It is a 10 min hike to the Escarpment Lookout, and roughly a 25 min hike to your CANOE on a small lake. There is a picnic table, firepit, outdoor gazebo bar, seasonal outdoor shower and private outhouse. The cabin comes with a map of 30km of TRAILS for you to hike or snowshoe. No neighbours within 500m in any direction. Possibility of occasional guest cars going past.

Country Cabin

This 200 year old log homestead is on the same property as the owners home. Max of four guests, children under 16 (max 2) stay free, no pets, and delight in the comforts of 1 queen & 1 double bed, hot water, shower, internet. Kitchen has microwave, 2 burner stove top, air fryer. Surrounded by 600 acres of bush and fields with 100s of lakes easily within reach. Enjoy a wonderful bonfire at night. [loft staircase may not be suitable for young children & physically compromised people.]

This newly renovated cabin sits on a shared 3-acre property with our family’s lake house. 40 minutes west of Kanata, ON in Lanark Highlands, 20 kms west of Almonte. The Gate House is a renovated 150 year old log building with 2 single beds, in floor heating, bathroom with shower & kitchenette with hot plate, toaster oven, coffee maker, small fridge & microwave, dining & sitting area. We also have the Doll House which has a queen size bed, bathroom & an outdoor hot shower for $95 a night, it is heated & air conditioned. See my other listing. Enjoy the farm!

Nestled in the Bonnechere region of Renfrew County, this magical place of solitude offers nature right outside your door. Local paintings by Ottawa Valley landscape artist Angela St. Jean displayed throughout the cabin feature lakes, rivers, and natural places and spaces that surround us.
