Ok, this, too, is not REALLY a restaurant. Fainting Goat serves TRUE European-style gelato. It is the best gelato I've had in the US... they source their dairy locally and other ingredients when possible. They import the ingredients for their hazelnut gelato directly from Italy and so it tastes exactly like the gelato I've had there... YUM!

It is the best gelato I've had in the US... they source their dairy locally and other ingredients when possible. My 32yo nephew always visits this spot for his late-night burger, fries, and shake whenever he is in town. 'Nuff said.

THESE ARE AMAZING! Opened Aug 1, 2017 and I and my neighbors are obsessed! They have milk-based (think creamsicle x 1000) and juice-based. You can't go wrong... and if you get it dipped in their delicious dark chocolate, you won't regret it!

Pure Foods is where you will want to purchase your smoked salmon. Their Alder Plank smoked salmon is the best smoked salmon in the entire market! We did the taste-test and this is what we ship to our families back east.

If it is a nice day, head for an island! The nearest "quaint" one is Bainbridge. There is a ferry that takes 30 minutes to take you there. I believe you pay on the way over, but not on the way back. Just off the ferry is a small town called Winslow which has a great front street. Good for walking around and having a meal. There is also a vineyard somewhat nearby, but there is a great tasting room on the front street. (As an interesting "factoid" we got married on this ferry and then took pizza from That's'a Some Pizza to the tasting room as the start of our day-long wedding festivities.
On a clear day, you can see the ring of volcanoes and mountains that surround Seattle. Plan it as a "dinner adventure" and catch the sunset on your return trip to Seattle!

This converted military armory is great for walking and dipping your feet in the water. On summer weekends, various festivals happen and this is the location of one of the largest in-city dog parks in Seattle.. dogs even have their own beach!

For a view of the city and the Olympics at sunset, Marshall Park is a great place to go. It is a small-ish "pocket park" on Queen Anne hill across from Parson's Gardens. If you Google search those, you should get driving directions and be able to find it.
