The best butcher we've ever been to. Fresh wild fish, grass-fed beef, and locally sourced cage-free chicken. Pro tip: their baked goods are PHENOMENAL. Bread, pastries, etc. Not cheap, but delicious.

This is a tiny grocery store but TONS of good options. Lots of vegan/vegetarian food. Think of it like a tiny whole foods that is twice as expensive. Although not cheap, they have fresh produce, delicious fresh smoothies, and almost any food item you want. Albertson's across the street has more traditional value groceries.

It’s about a 2.5mi walk uphill to the observatory, and 686 ft of elevation, or google “DASH observatory” for the 50 cent shuttle. If you drive, do not try and park at the top of the observatory. As soon as you enter the park, look for a parking spot and walk up if you’re able.

Do not sit in the first two rows because comedians always mess with those people, unless that sounds fun! Amazing local talent.

Only on Sundays 10am - 3pm, some of the best small pop-up food vendors in all of Los Angeles, in a giant lot that had been a flower market since the 1920's. If you eat meat, UGLY DRUM pastrami is the best smoked+grilled pastrami on the planet. Better than Katz in NY, even.
It can seem like a downtown wasteland as you drive up, but park in the giant parking structure and follow the tiny signs and you'll find it.

Absolutely gorgeous old creek and covered trail you can take all the way up to Griffith Observatory, past Trails Cafe, although it's quite steep. If you stick to just the lower part around the creek it's an easy hike and beautiful.

You can park at the top of Commonwealth, past Griffith Blvd, although mind the street cleaning signs. Then it's a straight walk up to the helipad with some of the best views of Los Angeles in the whole city.
