Destination
The Verdon Gorge (French: Gorges du Verdon) is a river canyon located in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region of Southeastern France. It is about 25 km (15.5 mi) long and up to 700 metres (0.4 mi) deep. It was formed by the Verdon River, which is named for its turquoise-green colour, one of the location's distinguishing characteristics. In between the towns of Castellane and Moustiers-Sainte-Marie, the river has cut a ravine to a depth of 700 meters through the limestone mass. At the end of the canyon, the Verdon flows into the artificial Lake of Sainte-Croix.

Listed as " les beaux village de France" , Tourtour is a provencal ancient village with a small residential population of approximately 360 only. Perched at an altitude of 635m above sea level, it offers a magnifique sky view & rolling mountain views of Provencal. The sunset view is even more striking from Tourtour. It is a medieval village still has the remains of its fortifications, narrow streets, fountains ( a total 8 of them), stone facades, clock towers and bell tower. It has tourist office where guest can find all the travel information, local highlight, and info on recreation, a post office, a Proxi convenient shop in the village which open everyday even Sunday ( until 12 noon). There are several long standing local cafe and restaurants on the beautiful village square where you can find all price range dinning options. Guest will not regret to try La Table --the fine dine gastronomic French restaurant located close to the village entrance. There are many small independent art galleries and several jewellery shops in Tourtour as well.

There is no public transportation in Tourtour. Car is must
There is no any sort of public transports in Tourtour. Tourtour village & residential area is a car free zone. The closest parking ( free) lots are all close to village entrance. One is right next to Proxi, the convenient shop; the other is right behind village Church St Denis. 5-max 10 mins walking to property. We can help you on luggages if needed.

A pair of good quality walking shoes is highly recommended.
There are many tracks/ public walking path around the village of Tourtour. It is wonderful to immerse yourself into the complete nature. Please wear comfortable and durable walking shoes if you would like to tracking. You might not have signals at all in some part of the mountain paths so make sure you've got a good pair of shoes, water and a compass.

Parking at Tourtour
Tourtour is a car-free zone so no vehicle can drive through except residents of Tourtour. However we have couple public free parking lot surrounded the Tourtour. The closest one to the property is the one behind Saint Denis Church on the hill. From there, it takes 5- max 7 minutes walking to the property depend on the speed of walk. Feel free to call us when you arrive we can come to pick you up.
