The preserve is a real gem. There are hiking trails arranged from 1.5 mile to 10+ mile routes, each left untouched other than discreet signage describing areas of particular interest. There are regular kid-centric events held at the main house.

Sunset Beach is a must go for those who like people watching, both during the day and throughout the night. Sitting on Crescent Beach, Sunset Beach has a very robust lunch and dinner restaurant service but and also bar scene. It's pricey but it's a huge draw for both people on and off the island. The mega-yachts anchored just offshore alone are worth a drive-by.
