The Cottage

Unplug in this peaceful little getaway. Nestled in the backyard of our little hobby farm near the Wood River, you will be able to visit our alpacas, goat, or honey bees. Sit and relax on the porch, or stroll through the pasture or neighborhood. In many ways, the cottage resembles a tiny house with a small bathroom & shower, kitchen sink, microwave, induction hot plate, coffee maker, plates, glasses & utensils. Many of the restaurants & shopping amenities are located on the north end of Kearney.

It's a 30-minute drive to Pawhuska and the Pioneer Woman's Mercantile, Tall Grass Prairie National Preserve, and the Osage Nation Museum. Come and enjoy our peaceful country setting surrounded by wildflowers and wildlife. We have a walking trail with a couple of exercise stations and 2 holes of pasture golf and 2 baskets for disc golf. There is a pickle ball/basketball court, lit dance floor and room to play outdoor games. You might want to enjoy an evening picnic in the lit tree area. Our open vistas provide for great cloud and star watching as well as amazing sunrises and sunsets. Outdoor seating on front and back porches.

Discover a folksy speakeasy behind the bookcase, soak year-round in the hot tub, gather by the firepit, or enjoy cards and cocktails in the heated and cooled vintage camper. The stock tank is open March–October as a cold plunge in cooler months and a refreshing pool in summer. Primary guest must be 25+ unless they have prior positive reviews. Approved events only.

Brent & Jean’s Tiny house

This tiny house in a tiny western Kansas town offers rest and relaxation. Arrive early to enjoy a beautiful western Kansas sunset and sleep peacefully! This house was built by my high school students and I at Ness City High School. There is a concrete patio with a fire pit to enjoy the evening. Our neighbors to the west often have calves and the neighbors to the north horses in their pasture. Coming so will be a small laundromat to the south of the tiny house. Come be our guest!
