PRIVATE ECO ESTATE: CENTRAL DRAKENSBERG Recently purchased and fully renovated - Grassroots is ready to welcome you! We have designed the house with our guests' happiness at heart. The house is in the exclusive private eco estate - Cathkin Estate, bordering the uKhahlamba Drakensberg Park World Heritage Site. The estate exceeds 1,000 hectares, with an abundance of free roaming wildlife (zebra, eland, wildebeest, oribi etc) and a host of birds and flora. A dreamy location for any nature lover!

Historic Stone House in Peaceful Chrissiesmeer

Stay in a house rich in history: Barclays erected the sandstone building in the early 1900’s. After many other uses it was renovated as a self-catering guesthouse accommodating six people in 3 en-suite bedrooms; 2 double bedrooms & a twin room. Beautiful wooden floors, fireplaces and stained-glass doors in the living room, lots of original paintings and fully equipped kitchen add to the warm ambience and atmosphere of the house. Saligna Dam View Guest House

Beautiful thatched cottage with an extra Rondavel set on our farm in the Northern Drakensberg area. It has its own private garden with lawns down to the edge of the dam. In the corner is a gorgeous private swimming pool to enjoy sundownders in on hot lazy summer evenings or keep the kiddies busy. The pool is safely fenced off. Ideal for a couple or a larger group. Lovely farm holiday for all. Although it can sleep 10 comfortably it is perfect for a cosy get away for just two. You will love it.

Please note that the property is remote and the last 200m of the access road will require a high clearance vehicle.

It has large living areas, separate kitchen, full bathroom with walk in shower, toilet and large bathtub and a guest bathroom. the cottage is a close 300m walk to the main town square and is decorated in modern African style, perfect treat for a couples weekend away in Clarens!

Peach Trees offers accommodation for two people in quiet surroundings, amazing views, while being close to the village centre. The cottage has a gas hob, under counter fridge, and ample space for cooking and braaing and a wood burning fireplace. There is a desk and free WIFI for those who may need to work or connect while away from home.

Clarens Villa Apartment

This unique place has a style all its own. One bedroom en-suite apartment joined to a main house with self catering facilities. The living area is heated by a wood burning fire place and the bedroom en-suite has an air conditioner. Braai facilities on site as well as a Smart TV with DSTV and WiFi. Two to three kms from the centre of town, on a mountain side. It is the bottom level of a three storey house but completely private and not affected by loadshedding.

Sunbird Cottage - Relaxed Farm Getaway

Sunbird Cottage is on a working farm 30km from Volksrust and Wakkerstroom Wetlands, it is a place to come and relax and recharge, we are off grid. There is great birding, walking, mountain biking and bass fishing on site, there are also kayaks for the dams. The cottage overlooks a gorge that goes down to the Slang River with an indigenous forest and has great views over the valley towards Amajuba Mountain and Battlefields for those interested in history.

Breakfast at the Tea Garden (not included) or take a early morning walk before continuing with your journey. Dinner can be booked in advance. No charge for children/elderly parent sleeping on lounge bed if accompanied by both parents.

Situated on Millionaires bend on the Vaal river. This is a much loved family home. It is a haven for children and families who wish to get out of the city for a few 10 guests, and no more than 8 adults. The house is fully serviced, maid and manager, included in the price. There is a jetty to moor a boat and slipway to launch a boat. Self catering.
