Just Be Cabin

Small, rustic cabin in the woods behind our home. The cabin has electricity, but no running water. Drinking and cooking water are provided from a hand pumped container. The cabin is a beautiful place to slow down, connect to nature and one's self. If you love to camp, you will love the cabin. It is the perfect locale for a personal retreat. We are happy to arrange a yoga class at our home studio as well. It is like a tree house, where all are welcome to come, simplify life and just be.

Cozy Retreat in the Trees

Time travel to 1958 in this architectural gem! This mid-century modern glass and wood cabin is 300 yards away from a charming small lake. The house is NOT on the lake itself, but it is surrounded by trees in a lovely secluded spot. The only heat is a wood stove... but there is a 4-person cedar barrel sauna in the woods that is electric. A classic 1952 Spartanette travel trailer serves as an extra bedroom. This is a true retreat for romance and adventure.

Enjoy our peaceful (pet friendly) home, just a short drive to the center of Norfolk. Great for friends and/or family visits. Board games, puzzles and books inside for all; fire pit outside. Front & side decks, are perfect for relaxing. Access great cafes, shops & cultural delights in Norfolk. The nearby Ellen Battell Stoeckel Estate hosts Yale's Summer Chamber Music Concert series. The Beaver Dam is a sunlight-filled & recently renovated cabin tucked in the woods, overlooking the October Mountain State Park and steps away from Basin Pond. We are located close to a number of excellent ski slopes. Our cottage is the last house on a private road and right next to protected forest. You can't ask for more privacy, peace and quiet than you'll find at our little piece of paradise on the pond!
