If you are looking to visit or travel to Buenos Aires the cheapest way is by the 1.5hr ferry. There are two providers Colonia Express or Buquebus. You can purchase direct tickets from Montevideo to Buenos Aires ($2000 +). Alternatively, you can purchase the longer route from Montevideo to Colonia to Buenos Aire (1000+, 3hr coach bus ride to the ferry). Ticket provider: www.buquebus.com.uy
