The Fresno Chaffee Zoo is about a 30 minute drive and is known for the Stingray Bay exhibit, Reptile House, Tropical Rainforest and the newest Zoorasic Park exhibit, a new colossal life-like dinosaur exhibit.

14.5 miles - The Fresno Chaffee Zoo is a zoo in Roeding Park in Fresno, California covering 39 acres and housing over 190 species. Its attractions include Stingray Bay, Dino Dig, Valley Farm, Sea Lion Cove, African Adventure, and Ross Laird's Winged Wonders Bird Show

Great spot for kids. Special attractions include 13 acres of cheetahs, lions, elephants, giraffes, warthogs, meerkats, and more. There’s a dino dig to excavate a T-Rex and triceratops like a paleontologist. There are sea animals from seals and pelicans to stingrays. Check for giraffe feeding stations and bird shows. Great place for families.

I know. Area surrounding is not the best but the park is such a gem. Very clean and friendly helpful staff. Could sit for hours and watch the elephants. We all loved feeding the giraffes. Snacks are not cheap however pretzel and cheese dip was a hit. And after a lot more walking had lunch outside of the "safari". Must must must have the garlic fries. I kid you not. Looking forward to the Christmas lights.
