Recently renovated and now open for public is Ravelijn Op den Zoom, one of the few remains of the famous fortifications of Bergen op Zoom. The Bergse fortress was an important part of the Zuiderwaterlinie and guarded access from the south to Holland and Zeeland. A visit to this pentagonal island and the casemates is only possible with the help of a guide. Inquire at VVV Brabantse Wal about the possibilities.
