Your visit to Cahersiveen would not be complete without visiting our church which was named after Daniel O'Connell "The Liberator"

This is Ireland's only church to be dedicated to a lay person, Daniel O'Connell the Liberator. It is ginormous in scale when you consider the size of the town that its in. Gothic-Revival in it's style, it is a magnificent feat of architecture which was built between 1886 and 1892 has recently been refurbished, the marble Daniel O'Connell's memorial stone was sent over as a gift from Pope Leo XIII.

This beautiful church is very unusual in being named for a lay person, one very important in the history of Ireland. The church reflects his importance in an elegant and moving way. Well worth a visit
