The Roman ruins of Pollentia are the most important archaelogical ruins from Roman times in Mallorca and the only one that can still be visited. The roman city was founded in the first century BC and it was the capital of Majorca and all the Balearic Islands during the Roman domination. There is also a Museum near the local Church that brings together the main archaelogical discoveries found in Pollentia.

LA CIUDAD ROMANA DE POLLENTIA. Es la zona arqueológica más importante de Mallorca, está hubicada al sur del centro histórico de Alcudia, en dirección al puerto de Alcudia. Los arqueólogos la ubicn en una extención de entre 16 y 18 hectáreas, en las que pueden encontrarse diferenes áreas excavadas, que ponen de manifiesto diferenctes aspectos revaladores del estilo de vida en es ciudad durante la época romana.
