located on the center of Iraklion, next to the Morosini fountain or 4 lions as we say it, you can try the traditional cheese pie (mpugatsa)

Don't forget to try some bougatsa (fylo pie with either cheese or semolina creme)--both are amazing in the famous Lion square in the heart of the city. (Both Kir-Kor and Filosofies are good--one next to each other).
