Svartifoss (The Black Waterfall) is a waterfall in Skaftafell National Park and is one of the most popular sights in the park. It is surrounded by dark lava columns, which gave rise to its name. To get to the waterfall you need to hike a moderate hiking trail for about 1 hour depending on your speed of course. Distance from the cottage is 223 kilometers (138 mi).
