A town with a huge personality full of history, lots of shops some quirky and also branded stores. Colchester Castle is open to visitors (paid entrance) Colchester Castle park is free with a great playground and has various events throughout the year. Museums are also close to the castle and park

Colchester Castle - Built by William the Conqueror in 1076. The Normans built over the ruined Roman Temple of Claudius. Great interactive museum for children (we recommend you hire a children's tablet for interactive 3D visuals).
