If you are looking to get away for the day and visit Ocracoke Island, the Ferry is the only way there and back. Ocracoke is a very small island but good for a day trip for sightseeing and just relaxing.

FREE ferry ride across Pamlico Sound to Ocracoke Island. You can also take a ferry from Ocracoke to Cedar Island! The ferry ride to Ocracoke is, a must do if you come to Hatteras!

Take a scenic boat ride on the Hatteras/Ocracoke Ferry! It takes less than an hour and on Ocracoke Island, you can enjoy free entertainment, great food, awesome places to shop and of course see the Ocracoke Lighthouse.
