To be outside with 10,000 other people sitting under the stars enjoying music, I mean, what an amazing thing. Meditation is often seen as a soloist activity, something you do on your own. But for me life is not separate from meditation, and the social component is really important. Go an hour before the show, take a picnic with some drinks — you’re allowed to drink alcohol at the Bowl — and sit and chat about life with friends. But go early and leave early, the traffic is mayhem.
Beautiful outdoor venue for concerts. Hollywood Bowl Museum open on weekdays.
Whether you are here during the warm summer/fall months or in the cooler winter, BRING A SWEATER or something to keep you warm when the sun sets. Also recommended: seat cushions -- either bring your own or buy one there, you don't want your butt falling asleep on the hard concrete bench seats before…
If attending an event you can drive (or ride share) to a location in Studio City and use bus transportation into the venue.
“This is a must-visit if you’ve never been. The Harry Potter World is crazy! Buy tickets ahead of time online and make sure to get there early to give yourself enough time to see everything.”
“Lovely hikes in the city, amazing views. Can get crowded but a top sunset destination. ”
“Just two blocks from Hollywood Boulevard, Runyon Canyon Park is an often overlooked urban park that offers some great views. Atop the canyon, you can glimpse views of the San Fernando Valley and the Pacific Ocean, as well as the Hollywood Sign and Giffith Observatory. The park also boasts several hiking trails and is a popular spot for celebrities to exercise. Travelers say that the canyon is reminiscent of Old Hollywood with several old mansions and estates scattered throughout the park – keep your eyes peeled as you follow the trail. ”
“Historic, 5,900-seat amphitheater in a wooded park showcasing a variety of acts under the stars.”
“Fun fun fun for the whole family. There's nothing quite like LACMA. It's a must see for any serious lover of art. It's big. I recommend visiting the Serra Sculptures. There's something for everyone there.”
