No smoking. Beautiful beach. Shaded and wooded walking paths. Playground. Family friendly.

This is a quick 5 min drive south where you can walk the beaches or have a picnic and spend the whole day there. Great public beach to go on a walk and watch the freighters pass by.

Not far past the Gratiot County Public Beach is the day use beach for Lakeport which is much nicer sandy beach. You'll know you're at the right place when you see the pedestrian bridge cross over top the highway. There's extra overflow parking and picnic pavilions & grills on the west side of the road. On the beach side there's also more picnic areas/grills, restrooms, change rooms. Gratiot County Park is nice, but this one, in our opinion is nicer. Dogs are not allowed on either of the beaches, or really any beaches in Michigan.
