Great jerk chicken and oxtail soup. And seriously hot, hotsauce. Homemade coconut ice cream is pretty kick-ass too. Parkdale institution (one of the oldest establishments in the neighbourhood.)

Snug spot known for its doubles (spicy fried chickpea patties), hearty curries & island murals. If you like West Indian food you will love this place.

Parkdale is home to a huge West Indian population and the roti here is top notch (followed closely by Island Foods up the street from Tyndall). It is also generally agreed upon that they serve Toronto’s best “double” (a delicacy you don’t ever want to live without).

So good, so authentic. Their hot sauce is the bomb as are their doubles.
