Kaypso is a lovely taverna right on the beach at Madhouri Bay away from the bustle of Nidri town. Sit on the beach and watch the sun turn the mountains pink and the sea to silver. My favourite dish is the potatoes with cheese from the oven. Delicious. You may need to book in the high season. You should be able to park on the road outside, if not use the main car park. Take your swimming things and have an evening swim. There are showers on the beach. If you are lucky enough to be there on the night of the full moon it is magical seeing the moon rise over the mountains and sea. Beats a sunset any time.
