Worth the trip. Walk along evelated wooden walkways through swamps. See frogs, snakes, aligators, they have one that weighs maybe 1000 pounds at the end. He can hardly move and suns himself all day. Take swamp tours on airboats, they have a wave pool for the kids.

National Historic Park and Preserve consisting of several sections. A boardwalk and dirt trails wind you through the preserve on a self-guided tour of marshes, bayous, and forests, all home to over 200 species of birds, alligators, nutria, and more. The visitor center highlights how the Mississippi River built Louisiana's wetlands and stresses the important relationship between the river, the land, and its people.
