The Citadel and the Fortress of Our Lady of Light , located therein , are part of the military forts built between the fifteenth and seventeenth centuries to defend the coast and the Tagus entry.

The Citadel of Nossa Senhora da Luz, is part of the military forts built between the 15th and 17th centuries for coast defense. Completely remodeled, is now home of an Hotel, shops and terrace rests
