Ian not only manages a good bookstore, but one of the cultural epicentres of Helsinki: every week several lectures, concerts film screenings or discussions take place in his shop. Not to be missed.

Arkadia is a large second-hand bookshop, a gallery and a venue for a wide range of events.

Lovely and big english secon-hand bookshop. The owner is a nice british gentleman who invites you to sit around and read and spend your day there. Wide selection of books in english. Have coffee and a pooltable. They encourage you to spend time there reading or working. The place also regularly has events.

This charming bookshop has become something of an institution in Töölö during the past few years: they host events of all kinds, poetry, music, movie screenings, discussion clubs.
